The five impressive reception rooms are beautifully proportioned and offer a suitably elegant, grand backdrop for special occasions whilst retaining the charm and welcoming feel of a private home.

Guests arrive into the Stair Hall and are greeted by the fabulous, double, stone staircase sweeping gracefully up to the Minstrel’s Gallery, an impressive 100 foot long vaulted space dotted with Persian rugs and antiques that connects the reception rooms on the first floor whilst equally serving as a fine reception area of its own.

At the heart of the interconnecting reception rooms is the elegant drawing room with vast log fire with superb Piranesi chimneypiece, Bluthner Grand Piano, sumptuous sofas and double height windows offering fabulous views over parkland to the Cheviot hills beyond.

Adjoining the drawing room is the impressive dining room with sparkling chandelier, large windows and ornate plaster cornice. Up to 80 guests can be seated in the dining room for a banquet, or smaller numbers for a more intimate dinner or lunch. In colder months a fire can be lit in the magnificent marble fireplace, adding an atmospheric glow to the space.

Wedderburn is an ideal destination for walkers and country sports enthusiasts with fabulous walking, cycling and riding on the doorstep.

The stunning sandy beaches of the Berwickshire and North Northumberland coastline are just a stone’s throw away. Some of our favourite spots include the stunning beach at Bamburgh, miles of pristine sands popular for walking, beach rides or surfing, the magnificent views from the cliff tops at St Abbs Head, a designated Nature Reserve and the breeding ground for thousands of seabirds and seals and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, an overwhelmingly mystical place cut off from the mainland during high tide.

There’s an array of fabulous castles and historic houses to visit including majestic Floors Castle in Kelso and Manderston House next door, widely thought to be the perfect example of an Edwardian country house and used as the location for the television series Edwardian Country House. Paxton House, the sister house to Wedderburn Castle, is just a short drive and is open to the public on a daily basis over the summer months.

The charming market town of Duns is just over two miles from Wedderburn with a good range of local amenities. The Jim Clark Motorsport Museum in Duns has been recently revamped and is dedicated to the life and career of racing driver Jim Clark. The museum includes a unique collection of 100 trophies and memorabilia.

Berwick-upon-Tweed and Kelso are 14 and 20 miles respectively. The magnificent Georgian splendour or Edinburgh is an easy day trip by car or by train from Berwick-upon-Tweed.
