To the side, the dining area will benefit from the heat of the log burner on chillier days, while during the summer the folding doors can be pulled back to bring the outside in and make the most of warmer temperatures. Decorated with wood panelled walls and a calming colour palette, this soothing space is the ideal place to unwind after a day spent exploring the great outdoors.

Move to the rear of the living space and you’ll find the bedroom area, where a comfy super king size bed awaits and pretty botanical artwork adorns the walls. Beyond it, in a separate room, the compact shaker style kitchen has a delightful window seat with leafy views – a lovely spot to while away the time while your meals cook on the hob. In the final room, the pastel-hued bathroom is adorned with decorative artisan tiles, which are warmed by underfloor heating, and houses a large walk-in shower.

Outside, through the folding doors, the patio is the perfect spot for soaking up the sun or enjoying breakfast al fresco on balmy summer days. From here, the meandering River Tweed is just a short stroll away, down a path leading directly from the driveway. Keen walkers will delight in having St Cuthbert’s Way on the doorstep – this iconic trail passes through Maxton, the nearest village – and the Eildon and Cheviot Hills just a short drive away.
