Step inside and you’ll feel this country-meets-seaside fusion with a sweep of blue paintwork throughout and gorgeous countryside vistas from every window.
Brunton Granary is spacious and bright – most notably in the kitchen where vivid blue walls and a vintage red rug enliven the open-plan kitchen and living space. There’s ample seating for a gathering here with a generous sofa and several armchairs dotted around the wood burning stove, with a kitchen table for eight placed between the fire and the kitchen space creating a sociable space to cook, dine and drink wine after a day walking or spent on the beach.
If convivial socialising is in order, the basement games room will be a hit. Complete with table football, a ping pong table, a large Smart TV, a bar and a drinks fridge, it provides an ideal space for noisy teenagers, or can be used as a retreat should you wish to watch a film one evening.
Upstairs, you’ll find four generous and elegantly decorated bedrooms. With exposed beams, elegant furniture, Pooky lamps, and headboards upholstered in designer fabrics, each achieves a cosy, country vibe while a marine-hued rug lends a serene coastal edge. Two of the bedrooms are en suite — choose between a large walk-in shower, and a bathtub below a shower — and all of them have super king beds that can become twins. There are also desks should any work need doing.
A soothing navy theme runs through the fourth bedroom. This room has its own basin and also shares the family bathroom with its soaking tub and separate rainfall shower with bedroom three.
Outside, there’s a large balcony terrace – accessed via that games room – where outdoor furniture has been positioned for you to enjoy views over Brunton Burn.
Here at Fallodon, there are plenty of walking tracks too. The ‘Coast & Castles’ cycle route passes straight through, with red squirrels, deer, otters, and birdlife all making an appearance here. Beadnell Bay’s glorious sandy beach is a two-mile stroll away across meadows, or 10 minutes by car. Close too is the popular Ship Inn at Low Newton, renowned for its seafood lunches, ruined Dunstanburgh Castle and more golden sands at Newton and Embleton Bay. Holy Island and the enchanting Heritage Coast towns of Alnmouth and Bamburgh are also within easy reach, as is an inland day trip to Hadrian’s Wall.

FISHING ON SITE
There is informal fishing available on the lake which is stocked with trout and is ideal for family and friends who wish to dabble. There are also wild brown trout in the burn. It is on a catch-and-release basis and there is no charge.
Long Byre, Swallow Dean, Brunton Lake, Brunton Burn and Mill Race cottages form part of a renovated farm steading in that order going clockwise around the courtyard. Brunton Granary adjoins Brunton Burn at the rear. Brunton House and Stable Cottage sit on the opposite side of the burn.
LOW OCCUPANCY DISCOUNTS
For guests who require plenty of social space that larger properties offer, but do not require as many bedrooms, Brunton Granary can be booked as a low occupancy property. Please note low occupancy is only available between November to the end of March (excluding the festive fortnight).
Two guests using no more than one bedroom will receive a 15% discount and four guests using no more than two bedrooms will receive a 10% discount.
